We are on the pathway to a new school! Updates on the latest happenings.
Placement Testing
Andrea and Nicola, the other two Co-op teachers, have been working hard on performance placement testing (see pictures above) so we have the students in the right grade level. Our proposed school calendar has school beginning August 25th.
School Registration
Registration is underway and is just about completed. It looks like we will be starting with 27 students our first year with a waiting list of 20+ wanting to attend next year! We needed to have registration completed early since we must order the curriculum and have it sent to Iowa where it will be packed in barrels and sent to Liberia; this takes two months by ship.
School building progress
Andrea has worked tirelessly to design desks and cubby systems to be made for each of the classrooms in our school house of 4 bedrooms. We're hoping to receive the cash funds needed so that we can have these items built before school begins. The cleaning and painting of the house will be taking place within a few weeks to come.
Here is a list of items needed to be done before teacher training in Senegal begins July 25th.
Have curtains hung or at least in the process of being made
Desks completed
A/C units installed
Curriculum and supplies organized
Chairs purchased and delivered
Roof leak fixed
Yard thoroughly cleaned and ready
White boards purchased and in the process of being hung
PLEASE BE IN PRAYER WITH US AS WE WATCH THE LORD BRING THIS SCHOOL TOGETHER!
