We are celebrating our first holiday season in Monrovia, Liberia. We thought you might enjoy some of our holiday pictures.
Liberian Thanksgiving - November 3rd.
For our Liberian Thanksgiving we had a chance to join our friends for a day at Libassa Ecolodge. For a reasonable $10usd per person you can spend the day and enjoy their pools. This was our first little get away and it was very nice. Of course we are in Liberia so it was a good thing we brought our own toilet paper, none to be found in the restrooms. Oh! Liberia. ;)
American Thanksgiving
We had the joy of sharing our U.S. Thanksgiving with a few of the Americans on campus and had the honor of sharing our holiday with a Kenyan, his first.
Christmas
We are excited for our first Christmas in Liberia. We have been invited to some special events by different mission organizations on campus and look forward to fellowship with those we don't get a chance to connect with often.
Below are some of the different activities and scenes from around campus. [Will add more as the season progresses}

Locally these are called Christmas birds because the arrive late November and leave late January. Just in time to celebrate Christmas with us.
Our trees were recently painted white. We assumed they were being treated for termites. Turns out the grounds crew painted them as Christmas decorations.

It is beginning to feel a lot like Christmas at the school.
The school children made gifts and then went Christmas Caroling in the pediatric ward at the ELWA hospital.
Started off the celebrations with a campus wide candle light service.
